Secondary Education (6-12)

Secondary Education degrees prepare students to teach a the junior and senior high school levels (grades 6-12). Students choose one content area to concentrate in from Language Arts, History, Social Science, Biology, General Science and Mathematics.  Classes are offered face-to-face, online, and /or hybrid (a combination of both online and face-to-face delivery methods.)

At AUM we believe it is important for our faculty to have real-world experience in K-12 education before they teach our future teachers. Faculty in Foundations, Technology, and Secondary Education have an average of over 13 years of experience in the K-12 setting, with a total of over 100 years of public school experience in the department.

In 2011 the AUM Graduate Studies program in the School of Education was recognized by U.S. News & World Reportas a "Best Education School" for Secondary Teacher Education.
